چکیده
We investigated the performance of the time-gated Diffuse Optical Tomography based on Monte Carlo model with patterned wide-field illumination on a mouse model. The reconstructions outperform classical punctual excitation schemes for similar data sizes. ©2010 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (170.3010) Image reconstruction techniques; (170.6920) Time-resolved imaging; (170.6960) Tomography; (170.3880) Medical and biological imaging

Modeling Time Resolved Light Propagation Inside a Realistic Human Head Model
Background: Near infrared spectroscopy imaging is one of the new techniques used for investigating structural and functionality of different body tissues. This is done by injecting light into the medium and measuring the photon intensity at the surface of the tissue.Method: In this paper the different medical applications, various imaging and simulation techniques of NIRS imaging is described. ...
متن کاملQuantitative Comparison of Analytical solution and Finite Element Method for investigation of Near-Infrared Light Propagation in Brain Tissue Model
Introduction: Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) is an imaging method in which light source and detector are installed on the head; consequently, re-emission of light from human skin contains information about cerebral hemodynamic alteration. The spatial probability distribution profile of photons penetrating tissue at a source spot, scattering into the tissue, and being released at ...

We experimentally demonstrate that time-resolved measurements of broad spatial patterns transmitted through an optically heterogeneous medium retain their temporal characteristics providing robust signals for efficient decoupling of optical properties and allowing fast quantitative high-resolution reconstruction. ©2010 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (170.6920) Time-resolved imaging; (11...
متن کاملReference optical phantoms for diffuse optical spectroscopy. Part 1--Error analysis of a time resolved transmittance characterization method.
Development, production quality control and calibration of optical tissue-mimicking phantoms require a convenient and robust characterization method with known absolute accuracy. We present a solid phantom characterization technique based on time resolved transmittance measurement of light through a relatively small phantom sample. The small size of the sample enables characterization of every ...
